Juneau Teen Health Center (2007-2008)
Facilitate meetings and planning process of the Juneau Teen Health Center Executive Committee (made up of clinician organizations that contribute services to the center) and the Center’s Advisory Board, to develop a strategic plan for expanding teen health center services to a second high school in Juneau, Alaska. Work included preparation of agendas, meeting facilitation, preparation of meeting summaries and final report.
Angoon Airport Master Plan (2005-2007)
Conduct public involvement program, accomplish land use research, assemble subcontractors work and author Angoon Airport Master Plan for new airport in Southeast Alaska. Subcontractor to R&M Engineering.
Needs Assessment - Downtown Juneau Visitor Information Center (2003)
Complete a market analysis and assessment of visitor information-related needs, services and facilities to determine if a new Visitor Center in downtown Juneau is warranted, and to recommend options for providing improved services and facilities. Project included surveys of visitor information service providers and users to identify existing services, needs and “gaps;” survey comparable centers in other high-tourism locations; forecast demands and potential revenues; and recommend options for meeting needs. Sheinberg was project manager for tem with MRV Architects, Charles Bettisworth and Company (architect), the McDowell Group and USKH Consultants.
Tok Public Lands Information Center Study (2002) 
Evaluate and recommend potential sites in the Tok area for construction of a new Alaska Public Information Lands Center (APLIC) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service administrative headquarters. Facilitate public meetings; provide public information. Team with architecture firm, Charles Bettisworth & Company, who developed a use program and conceptual site layout for the facilities.
Haines Public Use and Access Plan (2001)
Work with City of Haines staff, Council, planning commission residents to identify future public access and use of coastal areas and develop series of recommended improvements (and funding options). Includes beach access, disabled access, pathways and trails, and more.
Juneau Shoreside Fishery Enhancement Project (1999)
Facilitate public, team and agency meetings; and prepare and submit permit application to state and federal agencies for a State DOT&PF shore-side sport fishery enhancement project next to the DIPAC hatchery in Juneau. Sheinberg Associates authored the team’s environmental documentation. The project was constructed in 2001. In 2002, this project won the “Project of the Year Award” from both the American Society of Civil Engineers-Juneau Branch, and Alaska Society of Professional Engineers-Southeastern Alaska chapter. Project challenges included special outreach to Juneau’s disabled community, transit considerations, and project design to address environmental and tourist concerns. Sheinberg was subcontractor to R&M Engineering.
Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) Building (1999)
Facilitate communication and meetings among team staff, CBJ airport staff, Airport Board, regulatory agencies, and citizen’s interest groups to identify location and design of Snow Removal & Equipment Building (1-3 acre site) at Juneau International Airport. Subcontractor to R&M Engineering. |
